The Department of Computer Science & Engineering established in the year 1984 was the first CSE department introduced in Kerala. For the last three decades, the department has been imparting a state-of the-art education, training and research in the field of computer science and allied areas and regularly producing efficient and outstanding professionals. The department offers B.Tech and M.Tech and PhD programme with excellent infrastructure and well qualified and experienced faculty.Department is a KTU approved research centre with seven research scholars including a scholar under AICTE NDFscheme.
The faculty members of the department have been guiding research works and are representing different academic bodies like The Board of Studies (Engineering UG & PG), Academic Council, Faculty of Engineering, etc. of Kerala University and APJ Abdul Kalam Technological University. The department has been taking the initiative for the preparation and revision of scheme and syllabus for the B.Tech. and M.Tech degree courses in Computer Science & Engineering and Information Technology of Kerala University and APJ Abdul Kalam Technological University. During the past years the department has bagged top ranks in both Kerala University and APJ Abdul Kalam Technological University very often. Most of the students are getting placements and internship opportunities in reputed companies. Many of our alumni have reached positions of eminence in academic and research institutions, industries, businesses and also as entrepreneurs.
We are working with an objective to contribute our part to develop India as a Super Power in the area of Computer Science and Information Technology by imparting knowledge of international standard to young Engineers and Computer Scientists. The UG –Programme of the Department is accredited by NBA till 2022.The Post Graduate programme in Computer Science and Engineering was started in the year 2012 with an intake of 18.
