Dept. of Chemical Engineering

The Chemical Technology & Environmental Engineering Laboratory in the Department of Chemical Engineering provides upright testing, teaching and research facilities. The laboratory practical provides good insights into different experimental methods relevant to Environmental Engineering in the field of water quality assessment, water and wastewater treatment and analytical chemistry and enable the students to gain practical knowledge about estimation, preparation, analysis and determination of different chemical compounds. The laboratory is well furnished with incubators, autoclave, fume hood, Double Distilled Water Unit, balances, pH meter and drying oven. A dedicated air-conditioned workspace equipped with Particle Size Analyser (AT-3930H), UV-Visible Spectrophotometer (Systronics-117), Flame Photometer (Systronics-128) and Water Quality Analyser Suitcase (Elico) for Field Analysis has been established for academic research and consultancy works. The Chemical Technology & Environmental Engineering Laboratory of the department is certified by Kerala State Pollution Control Board with ‘C’ grade certificate and is an approved center for water quality analysis.
