Dept. of Mechanical Engineering

An important objective of this laboratory is to get a practical understanding of the basic manufacturing processes. This laboratory is aimed at providing hands on experience on moulding, casting and welding processes. The students are also trained to maintain reports in proper engineering format. The contents covered in this lab would supplement the course work and would be beneficial in making engineering judgements. This lab is equipped with Versatile sieve shaker, Permeability meter, Universal strength machine, Hot air oven, Computerized Heat Treatment Furnace working at a temperature range of 0-1200 oC, Induction furnace for melting both ferrous and non ferrous metals of 25 kg capacity (two crucibles).
