TKM College of Engineering, Kollam, had the honour of hosting the Final Event of the 8th Edition of the SAEISS Bicycle Design Challenge (BDC) 2025–26, organized in association with the SAEINDIA Southern Section on 11th and 12th April 2026, bringing together some of the brightest engineering minds from across the country in a vibrant celebration of innovation, sustainability, and practical engineering. The Bicycle Design Challenge, one of SAEINDIA's flagship student competitions, tasked participating teams with conceptualizing, designing, and building functional bicycle prototypes with a strong emphasis on practical engineering solutions, sustainability, and cost-effectiveness. Teams were assessed through a comprehensive series of design reviews, technical presentations, and hands-on performance assessments, with the event graced by a distinguished panel of industry experts including B. Venkateswaran, Dr. Varunkumar B, and Dinesh Shyamsundar, whose presence provided students with a rare opportunity to engage with seasoned professionals from the automotive and engineering sectors. By hosting this prestigious national-level event, TKM College of Engineering reaffirmed its position as a centre of engineering excellence and its commitment to providing students with platforms that go beyond the classroom.
