DEPARTMENT OF MATHEMATICS
Established in 1958 with the inception of TKM College of Engineering, the Department of Mathematics has been an integral part of engineering education for over six decades, providing a strong mathematical foundation to students of B.Tech., B.Arch., MCA, and M.Tech. programmes. The department plays a vital role in developing analytical thinking, logical reasoning, computational skills, and problem-solving abilities essential for engineering and technological applications. With six Ph.D. holders and four recognized research guides, the department fosters a vibrant academic and research environment. Its expertise extends to areas such as Computational Mathematics, Mathematical Modelling, Optimization, Operations Research, Probability, Statistics, Data Analytics, and Scientific Computing, supporting emerging fields including Artificial Intelligence and Data Science. Through an Outcome-Based Education (OBE) aligned curriculum, interdisciplinary collaboration, and innovative teaching practices, the department strives to equip students with the mathematical tools required for professional success, higher studies, research, and lifelong learning in a rapidly evolving technological world.
