Established in 1958 with an intake of 40 students, the Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering at TKMCE, Kollam has a proud tradition of academic excellence, and its alumni are renowned technocrats, academicians and researchers across the world. Our autonomous curriculum, updated regularly to match industry needs, combines strong fundamentals with electives, labs, projects and internships. Message from the Head of Department
Welcome to the Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering, TKM College of Engineering. The Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering offers one of the most diverse programmes in engineering. Our students build a deep understanding of mathematics and physics, and apply it across a vast canvas: from micro-scale machines to mega-scale systems, from 0 Hz to GHz, and from milliwatts to gigawatts. The future belongs to electrical engineers. Our B.Tech programmes in Electrical and Electronics Engineering and in Electrical and Computer Engineering prepare graduates for careers in smart grids, renewable energy, automation, embedded systems, power electronics and AI-enabled technologies. Our M.Tech in Electric Vehicle Technology positions students at the heart of the global shift to clean, sustainable mobility. Our Ph.D. programme gives scholars the opportunity to pursue original research under experienced supervisors and contribute to solutions for the energy and technology challenges of tomorrow.
